| This Free Rally Paddle is a new activity for non-racing kayakers who want to enjoy paddling on the Hudson River, cheer on the racers, and socialize with friends on the water. This self-guided group tour is a great way to check out the river and have fun. Paddle around Pollepel Island, located off of the eastern shore of the Hudson River 4 miles south of Beacon, NY. Tours of Bannerman's Castle might be available. Stay tuned... Please note: You need permission to land on Pollepel Island.
Date: Septmeber 21, 2008 Put in: Beacon Sloop Club Boat Launch Start: 11:00am Distance: 9 miles Fee: Free Note: After the paddle join the racers, spectators and other kayakers at the post race BBQ and award ceremony for food and beer. Cost: $10 per person. |
